            Bug ID: 453733
           Summary: Tooltips degrade performance
           Product: lattedock
           Version: 0.10.8
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: plasmoid
          Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
          Reporter: kitt...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
It's been a while since my latte dock started performing poorly, and even
freezing when hovering during meeting calls or other GPU intensive tasks.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a meeting or some other kind of CPU/GPU intensive task
2. Insistently hover lattedock
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Latte is extremely sluggish and freezes the entire UI from time to time, which
gets back to normal after a few seconds. The faster you move, the worse the
lag.

EXPECTED RESULT
Latte should be fluid and in particular it should not freeze the entire DE.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 35
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.91.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2
Kernel Version: 5.16.5-200.fc35.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz
Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 620

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've noticed disabling tooltips on mouse hover completely solves the issue and
restores lattedock fluidity. This is likely to be the culprit.
