Bug ID: 454962 Summary: Better UI and UX for present windows Product: kwin Version: 5.24.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-present-windows Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: m...@jyotirmay.dev Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 149526 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149526&action=edit small and heavily shaded window previews SUMMARY When using unmaximized windows, present windows have really small previews. Is it possible to have a consistent window preview size, like how the panel app-icon task manager previews provide a consistent frame which don't vary a lot in dimensions? Also, the darker shade on windows which aren't being hovered on makes it difficult to figure out what apps are where. The random order of arrangement of app previews also doesn't help as it gets too chaotic for eyes to track and read apps quickly. It will be nice if we can do something similar to the overview effect and what Windows 10 does (recommending for UI inspiration) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. have multiple windows open and keep some of them in a unmaximized state 2. toggle present windows effect 3. some window previews are really small making it uncomfortable to figure out the application OBSERVED RESULT EXPECTED RESULT SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Sid KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 5.24.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.94 Qt Version: 5.15.2 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
