There is an important change to how we manage kwin. The most important line from this log is: May 17 15:43:44 archissexy kwin_x11[604]: The X11 connection broke: I/O error (code 1) So kwin_x11 is trying to exit probably around the same time as the sigterm. It then potentially restarts after the sigterm is sent so therefore misses it.
