Correct? Please try the following if you have the install version of Kdenlive: delete the folder "C:\Program Files\kdenlive". Then re-install the latest Kdenlive version. Once done go to "Help -> Reset Configuration..". Then try again. The 40GB could be cached data. Go to "Settings -> Manage Cached Data.." and you can clean the cache as you need.
