Oh wow, yeah, I just tried reproducing Kevin Gagnon's "workaround" and placing
the laptop screen to the left of the external screen in system settings does
stop xembedsniproxy from spamming to the journal. That's pretty mindblowing.
To specify, my settings change changed the following two lines of `xrandr`
output:
eDP-1 connected primary 1920x1080+0+420 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 344mm x 194mm
HDMI-1-0 connected 1080x1920+1920+0 left (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 531mm x 299mm
to:
eDP-1 connected primary 1920x1080+1080+520 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 344mm x 194mm
HDMI-1-0 connected 1080x1920+0+0 left (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 531mm x 299mm
