But the key is not used automatically with the login as before. Option B has no observable effect here. Solution C is working. But to make it work for existing configuration you have to export/import the wallet and set it as standard. Interestingly when applying changes to the wallet service the matrix-client element is complaining that it is unable to decrypt. You have to logout and login again and confirm the session via QR-code. After learning some apt I managed to go back to 5.96.0 and everything is back to normal. Going back with the package manager synaptic will remove nearly all kde stuff because of unresolved dependencies.
