yes I had an older version installed few years ago.

Also, my current installation of RKWard  (as well R) are on drive E:/


In the RKWard.INI file there is only one line:

           R executable=../lib/R/bin/x64/R.exe


Please advise

I suspect you had an installation of RKWard on this machine, before, and the
installation is conflicting, somehow. Possibly it's simply an outdated
application shortcut.

1) Where did you install RKWard?
2) Open the installation folder. Navigate to "bin" inside that. Is there an
rkward.ini file in it? What's the content of that?
3) In the bin folder, locate rkward.exe and try to start that. Does that change
anything?
