Bug ID: 459036 Summary: After opening Kate quick search with Ctrl+Alt+I/O/P, pressing another shortcut should move search query to new search type Product: kate Version: 22.08.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: nyanpas...@tuta.io Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I'd like a feature where, if you've opened menu/file/symbol search with Ctrl+Alt+I/O/P, you can press another one of these shortcuts to carry the current search parameter into the new search type. This is useful if I accidentally press Quick Open, type a symbol name and nothing pops up, and I want to carry the symbol name into LSP symbol search instead. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open multiple files, preferably including a format supported by a LSP. 2. Press Ctrl+Alt+I/O/P and type some text. 3. Press another shortcut from the list. OBSERVED RESULT Nothing happens, the original menu remains open and the type of search is not switched. EXPECTED RESULT The current text gets carried into the new search type. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.25.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.97.0 Qt Version: 5.15.6 Kernel Version: 5.19.8-zen1-1-zen-00002-gc04f20e17963 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 12 × AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor Memory: 15.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 570 Series Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Product Name: B550M DS3H ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - In Kate 22.08 but not 22.04, Ctrl+Alt+I now renders higher than Ctrl+Alt+O.
