When exiting it, I was prompted to confirm the changes - though I had made none. I clicked on "cancel", then moved back to the page and, lo and behold, the setting now said "Store password for this user only (encrypted)". It seems then that something changed the setting I chose in the update from 5.25.5 to 5.26.0, hence the issue I experienced.
