Bug ID: 460999 Summary: Windows are too big to fit the interface inside the screen and custom window rules don't work. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.26.1 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: paninomaninod...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 153208 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=153208&action=edit Gwenview as an example, even with the panel to the side the interface doesn't fit. SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** The default sizes of windows are too big to fit on low resolution screens (HD resolution). Because of this part of the interface of the programas get's hidden outside of the screen.. You have to manually create a rule to force a lower minimal size, but on Wayland these rules simple don't work. And while I'm at it, the little "windows/popups" from the widgets on the notification panel could also be allowed to be resized to a smaller size, I think they're too big. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Gwenview (for example) 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Part of the interface, specially the bottom part, is outside the screen. EXPECTED RESULT All the interface should be visible SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon User Edition (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99 Qt Version: 5.15.6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This happens not only on native KDE programas, it also happens on third party programs. Windows inside programs that should be small are also bigger than they should. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
