Bug ID: 461225 Summary: [Feature Request] Ability to generate a shortcut of a file/folder, in the Desktop folder. Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 22.08.2 Platform: OpenSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: lemuelsimo...@protonmail.com CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 153345 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=153345&action=edit Windows Explorer, shortcut to desktop. SUMMARY This feature is basically a rip-off of an ability Windows Explorer has: being able to create a shortcut of a file or folder, on the Desktop. I think it would be a neat addition to folks that have desktop icons enabled, and to Windows refugees (done in part by the Steam Deck). Symlinks already do the job well, but it isn't as intuitive as 'Right-click > Copy to > Copy to Desktop (Shortcut)'. There's also a third-party service by Intika that allows this: https://store.kde.org/p/1290373 .
