Regardless, quibbling of resolution statuses isn't going get anywhere. As I wrote before, if someone wants to submit a fix for the issue that works and doesn't regress anything, I have to imagine it would be accepted and merged. Let's discontinue the conversation to avoid pointlessly blowing up people's email inboxes over this.
