Joel, can you please check if this still happens with the Contacts runner
disabled? You can disable it by opening krunner, clicking on the settings
button left of krunner's text field, and unchecking "Contacts" (alternatively,
"System settings" -> "Search" -> "Contacts"). I think that this is a duplicate
of bug 364342, which is fixed in KDE Applications 16.08.1. It seems unrelated
at first glance, but crashing during simple calculations is how the bug
manifested for me, too.
If krunner still crashes with the Contacts runner disabled, please add a stack
trace and state the version of your KDE Applications. The crashing component
might not be part of the Plasma suite.
