Bug ID: 462951 Summary: VPN icon missing when on bridge Classification: Plasma Product: plasma-nm Version: 5.26.4 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: docampo.an...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 154533 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=154533&action=edit only way to know if you're connected to a vpn SUMMARY I've recently switched from normal ethernet connection to a bridge connection, in order to configure properly QEMU network. I've noticed the nm applet now has changed its icon to a blue cable, instead of a white cable. So far, no problem with that, and as I can see on this bug report (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361874) it seems it is intended to behave like this. The problem is now, I cannot longer know with a simple glare, if I am connected to a VPN or not, as the lock icon shown before the change, no longer appears. The icon on the applet always shows the same look. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a bridge connection 2. Log in into a VPN (I'm using OpenVPN, but I guess any VPN will do the same) OBSERVED RESULT The nm applet icon doesn't change, you don't know just by looking the icon, if you're connected or not, you need to click on the icon and see on the dropdown. (see attachment) EXPECTED RESULT The icon should change to represent you're connected to a VPN, a lock, a shield, or whatever the VPN icon is.
