Actually no, I was doing it wrong.
The bug only happens if the globe goes upside down through vertical
left-click-and-drag past the pole. It does NOT happen if you turn it upside
down with right-click-and-drag. But as I explained in comment 1, it does happen
if you do both, where the globe looks normal, but rotates horizontally the
wrong way.
