I'm going to add my experience with Wayland and X11 performance. I hope this
can be addressed in the future. My Plasma 5.26.4 is powered by an Intel Pentium
G2030T (2) 2.60GHz. I tested both X11 and Wayland with blur and contrast
enabled as well as the FPS effect. I did the same tests on both X11 and
Wayland, and I noticed that any blur effect that fills the entire screen makes
the framerate drop as low as 40 in Wayland, while on X11 I get 60 fps with the
same blurred window filling the entire screen. Also, I get higher render usage
with animations and moving windows around in Wayland vs. what I get in X11. I
don't think Wayland's performance should be this bad.
