Bug ID: 465228 Summary: Cursor center_ptr has incorrect hotspot location Classification: Plasma Product: Breeze Version: 5.26.90 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Icons Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org Reporter: jeroen.zuiderh...@gmail.com CC: kain...@gmail.com, m...@nueljl.in Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 155919 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=155919&action=edit center_ptr opened in RealWorld cursor editor, includng location of hotspot The hotspot definition of the center_ptr cursor is not correct *** Due to this, applications that require accurate clicking and are using this cursor don't work as expected (e.g. image editing applications). The attached screenshot of "RealWorld Cursor Editor" that has opened the center_ptr cursor. It is very clear that the hotspot is not at the tip of the arrow but a bit to the right. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE The issue was first observed with a commercial application used to measure distance between locations on a geographical map. The measurement points did not end up where the user clicked the mouse, but a bit off. The incorrectness of the hotspot was confirmed like this: 1. Copied the file /usr/share/icons/breeze_cursors/cursors/center_ptr to a Windows machine 2. On Windows, open this file in "RealWorld Cursor Editor" with Xcur plugin installed (Any Xcur cursor editor that can visualize the hotspot could be used, I just found this one.) OBSERVED RESULT Observe the cursor shape and the location of the hotspot: The hotspot is not at the tip of the arrow but a bit to the right. This applies to all three icons (3 different sizes) in the icon file. EXPECTED RESULT The hotspot should be at the tip of the arrow. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: - macOS: - Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian 10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.54.0 Qt Version: 5.11.3 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I checked the Breeze repository (https://invent.kde.org/plasma/breeze/-/tree/master) and found that the latest center_ptr still contains this incorrect hotspot. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
