Since 22.12 Kate ships with a built-in diff viewer that can show diffs produced
by git. (Git needs to be installed at least). This diff functionality can be
used on normal documents that don't reside in a git repo.
To be able to use this, right click on a tab and then select "Compare With
Active Tab".
