            Bug ID: 466362
Summary: 10+ MB leak every second after new display added
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
           Version: 5.27.1
          Platform: Archlinux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: wevah29...@wifame.com
                CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
I have a dual monitor setup. After a new display device is added plasmashell
continues to increase in RAM usage by 10-13MB/second until the entire system
freezes up. In my case the new display is an Onyx receiver connected via HDMI.
I have also seen this happen when the a projector connected to that receiver is
turned on. My regular monitors flash black for a moment and then I see the RAM
usage increase until I can no longer use the system. If I can quickly reboot
before the system is unusable it will boot up fine with all displays working
and plasmashell using a stable and reasonably small amount of memory.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Login with w/ dual monitors connected via display port (1440p).
2. Turn on 1080p receiver connected via HDMI.

OBSERVED RESULT
plasmashell memory usage increases constantly until system freezes.

EXPECTED RESULT
plasmashell not increasing memory usage indefinitely.
