Bug ID: 466870 Summary: poor usability and outdated documentation regarding SSH tunneling support Classification: Applications Product: krdc Version: 22.12.3 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: uwol...@kde.org Reporter: k...@scheimong.net CC: aa...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 157006 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=157006&action=edit Current "Host Configuration" dialog KRDC handbook is last updated in 2016, and is specifically missing documentation on the SSH tunneling feature. See https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/krdc/krdc/connection.html. It's also not obvious how the SSH tunnel feature is supposed to be used, so improvements in the interface and documentation are sorely needed. E.g. - What's the "Port" field in the "Host Configuration" dialog used for? The remote SSH port? The local SSH port? - Does KRDC support SSH hosts defined in `~/.ssh/config`? What about pubkey authentication? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
