I think this is another case where bug
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424723 is in the way. That bug is about
the current behaviour that a folder is automatically selected if one ermeges
from it.
If one hasn't explicitly selected a folder and uses the paste action, it can be
confusing that the file won't be pasted to the current directory. I feel like
we could be more bold in acting on the selected folder if we could be sure that
a folder was actually selected by the user.
So I would be fine with changing the behaviour to always paste into a singular
selected folder if the automatic selection of folders wasn't a thing anymore.
So https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424723 needs to be fixed first IMHO.
