I'll add another anecdote that I'm seeing this issue as well on Fedora 37 under
VMWare Workstation 16 on a Windows host.  Recently I got a kernel upgrade from
a 6.1 version to 6.2 and I started seeing the issue with that update.  If I
boot the system using the previous 6.1 kernel using Grub2, then the problem
goes away and everything works fine; I only see the problem using the 6.2
kernel.
