Bug ID: 468149
Summary: Detached document windows in kate do not respect
disabled toolbar and sidebar settings
Classification: Applications
Product: kate
Version: 22.12.3
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: application
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
Detached document windows do not respect certain toolbar and sidebar settings.
If one disables the Main Toolbar, Main Hamburger Menu Toolbar, or Sidebar,
these settings do not apply to detached documents. A detached document will
have those settings enabled and the toolbars visible.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Under settings -> Toolbars shown, disable the Main Toolbar and Hamburger
Menu Toolbar.
2. Under View -> Tool Views, uncheck "Show Sidebars".
3. Open two documents at the same time in the same kate window. Right-click the
document tab on one of them and click "Detach Document".
OBSERVED RESULT
The Main Toolbar, Hamburger Menu Toolbar, and Sidebar are enabled and visible
in the detached document.
EXPECTED RESULT
The Main Toolbar, Hamburger Menu Toolbar, and Sidebar should remain disabled
and not visible in the new window for the detached document, respecting kate's
settings.
