Bug ID: 468742 Summary: Cursor vertically splitfies when moving between monitors at random times Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.4 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: core Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: nybbles2by...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When moving between monitors sometimes the cursor just splits into a bunch of vertical bars. I'll attach an image so you can see how it looks. The cursor in the image is just over a normal terminal window but where it would normally a simple arrow you will see it's, well, something else. STEPS TO REPRODUCE I wish I could give exact steps to reproduce but it happens very randomly when moving the cursor between monitors. The only thing I have notice that is consistent is that it doesn't seem to happen if moving the cursor across monitors slowly. It's usually a little faster than average than seems to do it. OBSERVED RESULT It only takes its weird form while on that monitor where it went weird. That is, if I move it back to another monitor the cursor goes back to normal. Then, move it back the monitor it went weird on and it will be weird again. That is, once it happened it will remain that way but only on the monitor it went weird on. However, it can be easily reset. Usually by doing something that holds the cursor in a different shape, like dragging a window, and while doing that move the cursor from a good window to the one it went weird on and once something like that has fixed it then it's fine until it randomly goes weird again. BTW, this has been happening for a couple of years at least it's just that it was such a minor thing that I never got around to reporting it. EXPECTED RESULT Not to happen.
