to try and prevent this krita just refuses to save my
work.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create new canvas and add reference pictures
2. draw what you wanted to
3. save and close the canvas
OBSERVED RESULT
canvas/drawing is not there and doesn't even appear in the pcs files to put it
back into krita
EXPECTED RESULT
drawing is saved and at the top of library
