Any progress on this matter?
It does seem like libinput does support disabling devices on mouse plug-in:
https://wayland.freedesktop.org/libinput/doc/latest/configuration.html#send-events-mode
I've wanted to switch to Wayland for months now, but the fact that this minor,
but important feature is still missing is an absolute deal-breaker for me.
