            Bug ID: 369667
           Summary: Playback on VLC Backend skips songs near the end;
Gstreamer backend fails to find MP3 playback
           Product: amarok
           Version: 2.8.90 (2.9 beta)
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Playback
          Assignee: amarok-bugs-d...@kde.org
          Reporter: ericsbinarywo...@gmail.com
                CC: ma...@laitl.cz

Let me deal with GStreamer first as that's the easiest one. I have all the
Gstreamer RPMs needed for non-free playback:
rpm -aq *gstreamer*

But it says the system can't figure out how to play MP3s. OGGs and Flac are
fine.

The VLC one is more complicated. Basically as a song is about to end, it cuts
off the ending and loads the next song. I get the following error on the
console:
QTimeLine::start: already running
[00007f48e0002ca8] cache_read stream error: cannot pre fill buffer
[00007f48e0002488] es demux error: cannot peek

The fact that it's skipping rather than letting the song end means that it's
causing all the songs to lose their dynamic score - it's going lower and lower
even though I'm listening to the song. The only thing that works is to have
Amarok set to "stop after this track", then it works correctly. Additionally,
because of whatever's going on, it won't scrobble the tracks. Sure, that's less
of a big deal than it used to be, but I do enjoy scrobbling.

I went and disabled every plugin, even last.fm and it's still giving this
error.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Play a song. When it gets to within a couple seconds of ending, it skips to
next song
2. Amarok counts it as a skip and it lowers the score and also does not get
scrobbled
3.

Actual Results:
Skips end of song, making the ending abrupt, also screws up stats

Expected Results:
Play song all the way to the end and get good stats

2016)
