SUMMARY
I was using ark to unpack a zip file (Matlab installation file in that
instance, so I cannot provide it). When I tried to run the installer I found
there was weird errors that library files were too short. Upon inspection those
files in .so.# were just containing another file name. For example
lixexpat.so.1 was containing the text libexpat.so.1.8.7 which happened to be
another file in the same folder.
When using unzip directly those files uncompressed properly as relative
symbolic link.
