I 'd like this too.
The thumbnail for a raw file can be produced by Darktable. If you open the file
in Digikam it could be processed by Darktable as a full size image.
As I can do exstensive editnig the resulting image can look very different from
the embedded JPG.
I would welcome closer collaboration between the two programs.
