I came to this bug report via this Reddit discussion:

It describes a possible tightly related issue, where search results in KRunner
and Application Launcher may lag behind the results in baloo itself, indicating
that there may be some unnecessary intermediate caching.
E.g. "baloosearch cardona" already gives the expected result, but
KRunner/Application Launcher give no result, or an outdated location.
