I snap windows around constantly and always want them to snap 50%. I often adjust the width afterwards and am usually okay with windows overlapping some. It's a nice way to keep track of what's there while getting the full view when focusing it. Changes like this subvert the utility of so many of the concepts of a normal windowing system.
