Another piece of information that may prove important:

I don't have any normal swap on this machine. I'm using zram managed by
zram-generator: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Zram#Using_zram-generator

I just noticed this note:

Now, I'm not trying to hibernate. I'm trying to suspend/sleep. And it works
currently. This seemed important to mention however.
