            Bug ID: 477316
Summary: Window resize -enlarge- performance becomes MUCH
worse, if the Window is aero-snapped to a corner.
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
           Version: 5.27.80
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: major
          Priority: NOR
         Component: compositing
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: gabbbbbbbbb...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Window resize -enlarge- performance becomes MUCH worse, if the Window is
aero-snapped to a corner.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run the latest 5 stable or plasma 6 alpha on any Arch based system with an
aging GPU. (for example Haswell iGPU, but happens with other older Intel igpus
as well)
2. Snap a Firefox, or a Chromium based browser window to a corner.
3. Make the Window very small, while keeping the snapped position.
4. Start enlarging.

OBSERVED RESULT
Bad performance on X, unbearable lag on Wayland.

EXPECTED RESULT
-same resize performance compared to non-snapped window enlarging
-performance improvement in Wayland, not the opposite.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma:

Latest stable from the Arch repo, but tried with the alpha from kde-testing,
it's the same.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
On X this can be observed with compositing either on or off.
Using an 1000hz polling rate gaming mouse drastically worsens the issue, but
even the el-cheapo office mouse at 125hz is causing the problem, especially on
Wayland.
