Aside from the virtual desktop issue already mentioned by several people, it's
worth noting that Dolphin does not currently restore its state correctly even
under X11. Briefly, if you have more than one Dolphin window, some with the
Terminal open and some not, the restored Dolphin will have all windows showing
the Terminal in the same state, either open or closed, apparently at random.

I reported this over a year ago (see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455324) but never saw a reply.
