I've been using Plasma under both X11 and Wayland for roughly 3 years now and I don't recall this ever happening, and it definitely would have annoyed me enough to open up a bug report before. Safe to say this is definitely something new to KDE 6. Unless you're asking me to test the stacked layout? In that case I'm not sure about downgrading my system in such a significant manner like that, especially given kde-testing on Arch requires you to use core-testing and extra-testing which includes KF6 packages.
