            Bug ID: 480962
Summary: glxgears window is black and doesn't show anything
with nvidia driver (and also other apt installed
                    applications)
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
           Version: master
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: glx
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: feat...@engineer.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Games or applications that are supposed to utilise the GPU can't display any
image, if they're installed using apt.
When installing the same games with flatpak (tried with Red Eclipse and
SuperTuxKart) they work perfectly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. run glxgears (results in black window, although it reports fps in terminal)
2. apt install supertuxkart and run it (results in garbled moving pixels in
window)
3. apt install redeclipse and run it (results in black window which steals the
mouse)
4. install the same games with flatpak - they run perfectly.

OBSERVED RESULT
glxgears and natively installed games can't display graphics.

EXPECTED RESULT
games and applications should work regardless of installation method.
