I think they way it works now is because of how the new website logic is showing posts - and that is carrying through to the application. 1. English - Always just shows English of course 2. Chinese - Tries to get chinese news, but will show English post if it is not translated Now if you are in the Krita application and select both English and Chinese, There will be a lot of duplicate English posts as the Chinese language also shows English...in addition to the English posts. Chinese does not just show Chinese news with the new system. That was a recent change that was requested.
