Bug ID: 481779 Summary: Android TV support Classification: Applications Product: kdeconnect Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: android-application Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com Reporter: alexander.adam+...@vade.io CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Right now the KDE Connect app doesn't show natively on Android TV devices because the metadata is missing. Hence only third party launchers can launch KDE Connect on Android TV although it especially useful on Android TV devices as they often only have limited input capabilities and often no built-in possibilities to manage files on these devices externally. KDE Connect enables these functions easily but the requirement of needing a third party launcher to even start and pair it adds an additional barrier to non-tech-savvy folks. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install KDE Connect on Android TV 2. try to launch it in a default launcher OBSERVED RESULT The app doesn't show up EXPECTED RESULT It shows up SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS All Android versions ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Google provides documentation on what is needed for proper Android TV support (i.e. a handy checklist at https://developer.android.com/training/tv/publishing/checklist ) and apparently it is possible to work with virtual devices ( https://developer.android.com/training/tv/start/start#run-on-a-virtual-device ). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
