Bug ID: 483146 Summary: [wayland] Opening Display Configuration Does Not Select Current Display Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: 6.0.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: eamonn...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When opening "Display Configuration", either by searching for it, selecting it in System Settings, or when right-clicking on the Desktop and selecting "Configure Display Settings", it will not select the current display. Instead, it always selects one specific display. I think this is most jarring with the last case; when right-clicking on the desktop and choosing to configure, I think it makes sense to select the current display. Making this behaviour consistent with the first two use-cases is just a bit of sugar I think. From System Settings, each time the menu is entered, the selected display should be updated to reflect the display it is currently on. Not sure how much of this is technically feasible, although I think when right-clicking on the Desktop and opening display settings, the previous behaviour did actually select the current display. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open "Display Configuration" either by searching for it, opening it from a System Settings window, or right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Configure Display settings..." 2. The current display will not be selected, which may be inconsistent with the previous Plasma 5 behaviour, but I cannot recall exactly. OBSERVED RESULT Opening "Display Configuration" in any way will not select the current display by default. EXPECTED RESULT Opening "Display Configuration" should select the display the window is currently on at that time.
