SUMMARY
The KDE6 Brightness & Color Applet should add the ability to control the
contrast of the monitor as well. Almost every monitor ever made supports
contrast adjustment and it is well supported by ddcutil. The Dell applet on
Windows for my monitor also allows contrast adjustment. Use cases for having
this adjustment easily available in the applet include
- changes in lighting conditions between day and night
- gaming vs normal desktop usage
I had hacked together my own applet for this in KDE5 but it no longer works in
KDE6.
