Bug ID: 486074 Summary: Baloo write like crazy and freeze system Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-baloo Version: 6.1.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Baloo File Daemon Assignee: baloo-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: i...@guoyunhe.me Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 168871 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168871&action=edit baloo write disk like crazy *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY The system was installed months ago. In theory, Baloo has indexed most files on the disk. But recently, I experienced frequent system freeze. When looking into system monitor, the only strange thing is that Baloo writes data to disk like crazy. (see attachment) I was playing Steam game Grand Theft Auto V at the moment. And most system freeze happened when I play Steam games. Probably Baloo is indexing SteamLibrary folder which contains lot of huge data files (but not many in number, I configured to not index file content). After killing Baloo and stop it from running in backend, I didn't have any system freeze anymore. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. 2. 3.
