Well, putting it inside the 'Filter' button is another possibility, but it requires an additional click for every single search you perform. A third possibility (see the file attached) is to put the search box on the same row with the Blending Mode drop-down. A different approach could also be to display only temporary the search box when using a shortcut like Ctrl+F. In the end, it is up to the developers what method they will chose.
