Hi,

afaik (hearsay from discussions about video UDF):
On Linux udftools have been superseded by UDF write support in the kernel.
Both are not suitable for DVD video because they cannot guarantee the
directory structure which is demanded.

The free DVD authoring tools seem to rely on mkisofs for the job.
On Ubuntu i see only dvdauthor and its frontends.
http://dvdauthor.sourceforge.net/ says
  "Things DVDAuthor does not do:
   Make a disc image or burn the disc: this is left to tools like mkisofs
   and dvd+rw-tools."
