Bug ID: 490652 Summary: No default layer selected when opening files Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: 5.2.3-beta1 Platform: Ubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kritab...@mlhk.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 171894 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=171894&action=edit Screen capture of layer menu with no layer selected by default. In previous versions of Krita, opening one or a plurality of graphics files (PNG, TIFF, JPEG, etc.) always resulted in the single layer labelled "background" being selected for all files. This layer is available for editing as soon as the file is loaded. In version 5.2.3, opening a plurality of files from the GUI or the command line results in all of them but the last one to have NO DEFAULT LAYER selected. One has to go in the layer control, select "background", which is the only layer available, and then one can begin to edit. Quite often, not even the last file opened has a layer selected. >From the GUI, if only one file is opened from the menu, it appears to have a layer selected, but I have not tested this exhaustively. On the command line, often not even the last file opened result in having a selected layer, and sometimes opening a single file does not have a layer selected either. >From the random, inconsistent behavior, I'm quite sure that this is a bug, and not anything intentional. Having to click to select the layer menu and select "background" is especially inconvenient when editing a large number of files. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
