With two monitors, put your computer into suspend. Now, turn off one of the monitors and resume, then turn on the second monitor once resume is complete. I get either a blank screen on monitor two, or I get the default wallpaper. Switching to a VT and back will generally fix the blank screen. This is not a video driver bug, or at least I can reproduce it across multiple drivers (Intel, AMD and modesetting), two different video chipsets (Intel and AMD) and with Mesa/Xorg at head or at last stable release.
