Bug ID: 491151 Summary: Discover thinks too many licenses are proprietary Classification: Applications Product: Discover Version: 6.1.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: discover Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: n...@kde.org CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Search for "akkhara" and you'll find an app with a license listed as "Beerware", which apparently is known to SPDX: https://spdx.org/licenses/Beerware.html#page Discover labels it in orange and shows the proprietary warning button. However the license's full text is as follows: > "THE BEER-WARE LICENSE" (Revision 42): > > <p...@freebsd.org> wrote this file. As long as you retain this notice you can > do whatever you > want with this stuff. If we > meet some day, and you think this stuff is > worth it, you can buy me > a beer in return. > > Poul-Henning Kamp This is not what I think any normal person would describe as "proprietary." It may not meet GNU definition of free (as in copyleft) software, but it's certainly not proprietary. Branding the app as having a proprietary license is incorrect. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
