Once I stick a random window to the grid (from the relatively new tiling feature) the animations are smooth (240 Hz). Only have to do this once per login, after that everything is smooth. Using the wayland session, animations are permanently stuck at 60 Hz. The trick from the X11 session doesn't work here.
