I've just tried this on dolphin from git master and am unable to reproduce the
issue.
If you start dolphin from konsole (or any other terminal) does it show any
output when you open dolphin, the properties dialogue or the share tab?
This might be a distro configuration issue.
Can you also please check samba and kdenetwork-filesharing are installed?
