RDP stands for Remote Desktop Protocol, a proprietary protocol developed by
Microsoft that allows users to connect to and control a remote computer over a
network. It enables the display and input of the remote system's desktop,
making it seem as if you are operating the machine locally.

Key Features of RDP:
Remote Access: Allows users to access their work desktops from home or other
locations.
Secure Connection: Supports encryption and network-level authentication to
secure connections.
Multiple Sessions: Some versions allow multiple sessions for different users.
File Transfer: Enables transfer of files between the local and remote machine.
Clipboard Sharing: Supports clipboard sharing for easy copy-pasting between
local and remote desktops.
RDP is widely used for remote work, server management, and technical support.
The most common implementation is Microsoft's Remote Desktop client (mstsc)
available on Windows.
