Bug ID: 493923 Summary: SEGFAULT: Font selector crashes itself, system settings and KConsole - unable to change fonts Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.1.5 Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: generic-crash Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: k...@frost.kiwi Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Kubuntu 24.10 Beta. Plasma 6 font selector crashes on both X11 and Wayland, I am unable to change my font in KConsole or the system. No new fonts were installed, which could have affected this. It also crashes the system settings, when launching the font selector from the system settings and it crashes KConsole, when changing the fonts there. Tried launching it via a console command `kcmshell6 fonts` to hopefully finds a reason for the crash. Before the crash I get: ``` Using fontconfig file: "/home/bamboo/.fonts.conf" qt.qml.typeresolution.cycle: Cyclic dependency detected between "qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/desktop/private/TextFieldContextMenu.qml" and "qrc:/qt/qml/org/kde/desktop/MenuItem.qml" ``` Then I click the pencil icon to change a font ``` Segmentation fault (core dumped) ``` STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Font selector 2. Try to change a fault OBSERVED RESULT SEGFAULT EXPECTED RESULT Being able to open the font selector SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 24.10 Beta, Linux 6.11.0-8-generic KDE Plasma Version: 6.1.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.6.0 Qt Version: 6.6.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RTX 4090 with NVidia Proprietary Drivers.
